The 1971 Academy Award winning film Fiddler on the Roof will be screened in the Conti Room. Tevye, a hardworking milkman in a humble 1910 Ukrainian village works to find wealthy husbands for three of his daughters. He does so while struggling with poverty and his increasingly oppressive surroundings.  

This is an adaptation of the long-running Broadway musical based on the classic novel "Tevye and His Daughters" by Sholem Aleichem. Rated G, this lavishly produced and critically acclaimed screen adaptation of the international stage sensation tells the life-affirming story of Tevye (played by Topol), a poor milkman whose love, pride and faith help him face the oppression of turn-of-the century czarist Russia.
