While the origins of Thanksgiving begin with the 1621 meeting between English colonists and members of the Wampanoag peoples, there is much more to the story. The institution of this holiday in the American calendar has an interesting story that involves both Federal and individual State decisions. This lecture will also include the development of various Thanksgiving traditions and even a bit about the Canadian version of the holiday. This presentation by Alex Clemente will be held virtually via zoom. Please register in order to receive the zoom link.
