The Mason Room is the New Providence Historical Society’s climate-controlled archive of historical records pertaining to New Providence, which is located within the New Providence Memorial Library at 377 Elkwood Avenue.

Signs, Songs & Stories with Miss Cathy features stories, interactive rhymes, songs, sign language and movement for ages 3-5 (preschooler - K).

Join Miss Debbie for an active storytime with songs, fingerplays, dancing and fun.  (For ages 18 months - preschool but older kids welcomed!)

Bring your babies and toddlers to read, sign and have some fun with Miss Anita.  Weather permitting Miss Anita's storytime will be outside on the front lawn.    For ages 0 - 3.

Play with our train set, dollhouse, Duplo legos and puppet theater.  And make new friends!

Drop by the Coddington Room to make a craft using the materials and instructions left on the table.  Take home what you create.

Audiobook Walking Club

(a Silent Book Club Side Quest!)

The Ballad of Wallis Island will be screened in the Conti Room.

Play with our train set, dollhouse, Duplo legos and puppet theater.   Meet new friends.

Open Play is closed from 4:00 - 5:00 pm.

Shrikant Bhide, an origami expert, will teach you how to make animals, birds, flowers, or a box by folding paper.  The design will depend on your level of experience, and all levels of experience are welcome.  Paper will be provided.

Explore arts and crafts in this hands-on after school monthly club.

Learn to play chess with the NP Chess Club! 

The club will present instructional lectures & strategy in the Conti Family Room.  These presentations are open to children, teens and adults.

Improve your skills as a writer in Writing Wizards, a creative writing workshop led by high school students. Students will learn writing through prompts and grammar lessons, and receive constructive feedback from both their peers and teachers.

Play chess with the NP Chess Club!

Weekly play every Monday night from 5:30-6:30.

All ages welcome. All children age 10 or under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at all times while in the building.

Whether you’re a beginner or already coding, our club is the place to learn, build, and have fun with code.

Knitters, crocheters and stitchers are welcome to come work on your works-in-progress in the Conti Room.

Put on your PJs and bring your lovies for stories with Miss Debbie.
